Lacoste and Highsnobiety team up for first time, more launches planned

Published
Jan 19, 2024

Lacoste has linked for the first time with cultural, media and lifestyle brand Highsnobiety on a “super limited” L003 2K24 co-branded sneaker and apparel collection. More launches are also planned.

Lacoste x Highsnobiety

The companies said this debut launch takes the best ingredients from fashion and tennis for an elevated recipe of sartorial excellence”.

The pieces will be available via the French label’s webstore — and at other retailers — on 2 February following their Highsnobiety debut two days earlier.

Priced at €220, we’re told the sneaker “combines tennis class, French fashion’s je ne sais quoi, and left-field luxury”.

Using Lacoste’s heritage in tennis as a starting point, Highsnobiety has “added its new luxury and youth cultural nuances for an elevated take on the everyday sports silhouette”.

The L003 2K24 is an evolution of the L003 Neo, but unlike that shoe, sport rather than fashion is the starting point.

It “combines the technicality, nuance, joy, and sartorial flair of the court and brings it to the everyday”.

That means a “high-performing lightweight” shoe with a multi-panelled super-light upper with attributes such as “ballistic nylon, padded mesh vamp, and a padded heel collar” that sit upon “all the needed specifications for a comfortable next-level sports shoe”.

Meanwhile the EVA midsole for cushioning has TPU reinforcement for stability and unites with a rubber outside complete with running-inspired anti-slip spikes, aiming to “bring an added eye-catching, contemporary look to the sneaker”.

Premium touches also include “hairy suede, rich meshes, heavy terry towelling lining, embroidered logos, premium nubuck leather tongue label, knitted insock, matte finish TPU embossed outercage, and tumbled leather underlays”.

The colour palette blends “the laid-back colours from clay and grass grand slam courts with pops of green reminiscent of Lacoste’s logo”.

And the apparel collection continues the ‘Shades of Tennis’ theme in the form of a fresh take on the polo top, plus a co-branded T-shirt, hoodie, jogging bottoms, cap, and socks. They all have a “slightly oversized shape”.

The release of the collection “marks the introduction of the L003 2K24 to the world, which will see general release in the coming months”.
