Eugenio Canali passes away at 91
On Tuesday at 10:45 am, Eugenio Canali's funeral will be held at the Monza Cathedral. The former head of Canali, who still held the position of honorary chairman within the Italian luxury enterprise, passed away on August 25, as reported by the Italian press over the past weekend.
Canali, along with his brothers Genesio and Giuseppe, represented the second generation of the company founded in 1934 in Triuggio by Giacomo and Giovanni Canali. The leader, who spearheaded the industrial site development in Lombardy's Brianza region during the 1960s, is passing the reins of the company to the third generation, led by CEO Stefano, along with his siblings Marco, Paolo, Maria Grazia, and Elisabetta.
"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our honorary chairman, Eugenio Canali. We bid farewell to an extraordinary father, man, and entrepreneur," declared the company.
"His profound impact on the world of men's fashion, coupled with his tireless commitment to the 'Made in Italy' ethos, will linger in memory far beyond the confines of the company he transformed into a symbol of Italian sartorial excellence worldwide. His visionary leadership, wisdom, and above all, his ethics, will continue to inspire the third generation at the helm of the enterprise. He will be forever missed, yet never forgotten."
